MRI Scan

I had my scan this morning, the consultant radiologist is looking at it at lunchtime and will forward the results onto the orthopaedic consultant who will tell me the results tomorrow. It was so weird having an MRI scan. I’ve never had one before. I’ve had a CT scan on my head, when they couldn’t decide if I just had a really bad migraine, meningitis or a subarachnoid haemorrhage – turned out to be a mega migraine. I had to have ear defenders on as it was so loud, but I settled down and got comfortable and just started to get back to sleep when they hauled me out.

Stitches are sore from yesterday and as predicted, most of the steri-strips have fallen off or been pulled away. Usually I pick at them (I guess that’s symptomatic of the dermatotillomania/trichotillomania) but I made a conscious effort not to this time. Except the nurse didn’t put a dressing over the top so my jeans are rubbing against them – which hurts. The bruises are beginning to come out from where the doctor injected the local anaesthetic as well. I realise this is all quite self-pitying, it is all my own fault so I shall shut up now.
