Scan results

Saw the consultant yesterday morning to get the results of the MRI scan on my ankle. I have pulled the posterior tibial tendon away from the navicular bone, possibly chipping the navicular bone as it came away. As a result the posterior tibial tendon is fucked, torn, inflamed and not supporting my foot. It’s the tendon that keeps the arch of your foot supported so they want to fix it. Surgery in March to fix the tendon and reattach it to the bone.

However, as an incidental finding from the MRI scan, they found a bone tumour in my tibia. It cover a 30% mass in the bone and as a result is weakening the bone making it more likely to fracture. They don’t know if it’s benign or malignant, so I’m back at hospital on Tuesday to have a biopsy under local anaesthetic and then wait a few days for the results.

Also have tonsillitis which I ignored all over Christmas and the infection has spread to my ear. Which is all I need on top of this worry – tonsillitis and an ear infection.

I don’t think I can hack much more physically wrong with me.

    Oh boy….
I’m so sorry everything is hitting you at once. It just doesn’t seem fair, does it. Hope the biopsy on Tuesday goes well and the results are positive.

Surgery, tumour, tonsillitis and an ear infection?! Dear goddess, that’s a lot to handle. *huggles* The tumour better be benign! I’ll be so mad if it isn’t. I know that’s probably dumb of me but just because I’m another person online doesn’t mean I don’t care.

Take care of yourself. I’m sending you positive vibes.

    Love,

    Li
