Quick Update

Am still in hospital after operation on Wednesday. The tumour has been removed fully and just over a third of my left leg is metal rod. I have to have 3 sessions of chemo when I’m discharged and some more scans and then *fingers crossed* it should all be OK.

Overnight Leave: An Absolute Godsend After 7 Weeks Of Cabin Fever

I’ve finally on overnight leave which considering I’ve been in hospital for 7 weeks seems a long time. My consulltant thinks I have borderline traits but don’t fulfil the full criteria for BPD. I am now officially Bipolar II, borderline traits and Eating Disorder NOS (Not Otherwise Specified).

Some of the drugs have been changed. The duloxetine has been doubled, the lamotrigine has been increased, as has the diazepam. I’ve back on zopiclone and have just started taken trazodone as a sedative add-on anti-depressant after a fortnight on mirtzapine which increased my appetite so much that I was about to refuse taking it.

I am now on a bit of a hypomanic phase which my parents think is me recovering but my psych and all the therapists realise is hypomania. My one-to-one therapist and I aren’t particularly clicking but I’ve mentioned it to my psych and the head of therapy services and I have to talk to her next time I see her (tomorrow afternoon) and talk it through with her and if we can’t sort it out then I’ll change therapists.

I’ve taken up badminton again, which is great fun but am so pissed off with the NHS. My operation to remove the tumour was scheduled for Tuesday just gone but because of the ‘bad weather’ they cancelled it and it has yet to be rescheduled. I was OK with this until I read the news about Jade Goody and now every time I cough I’m convinced it’s spread to my lungs, particularly as I’ve taking up smoking again since being in hospital.

Don’t know how much longer I’ll be in but I’ll try and keep this blog going as best as I can.
